Body Massage Techniques

Body massage can also be known as Swedish Body Massage. They are straightforward massage treatments that can incorporate many different massage movements to make a massage vigorous or relaxing depending on the client’s needs. I can cover the whole body or focus in on specific areas depending on your specific requirements

Swedish/Body massage uses softer strokes on the bonier and more delicate parts of the body, and stronger strokes where there is thicker muscle coverage. This sensitivity to pressure makes it ideal for relaxation.

The term "Swedish Massage" refers to a variety of techniques specifically designed to relax muscles by applying pressure to them against deeper muscles and bones, and rubbing in the same direction as the flow of blood returning to the heart. The main purpose of Swedish massage is to increase the oxygen flow in the blood and release toxins from the muscles.

Swedish/Body massage shortens recovery time from muscular strain by flushing the tissues of lactic acid, uric acid, and other metabolic wastes. It increases circulation without increasing heart load. It stretches the ligaments and tendons keeping them supple and pliable. Swedish/Body Massage also stimulates the skin and nervous system and soothes the nerves themselves at the same time. It reduces stress, both emotional and physical, and is suggested in a regular program for stress management. It also has many specific medical uses. Swedish/Body massage feels good, is relaxing and invigorating. It affects the nerves, muscles, glands, and circulation, while promoting health and well being.

The most common medium used for a Swedish/Body massage is oil, however other mediums can also be used, such as cream, gel, and powder it is entirely to your preference as to which medium is used.

The benefits of body massage are as follows:

The massage sessions can be 60 minutes or 30 minutes in length.
